Most days when first using the box.
Turn TV on, Mag on its channel menu, Mag does not respond to the remote, Power Mag on/off and becomes responsive to remote again.

I have a similar problem that started with the most recent Mag software update. I believe the problem was introduced with the update. I find a work around is to unplug the Mag and plug it back in. I do not think this is anything to do with Rapid.
From the default, I have set both my Mag's up following the video tutorial on here and made no other changes. As you have checked everything then the only thing left is that the 256 is faulty?

Could I suggest for now you ignore all the technical stuff about codecs. The Mag 256 is supported by Rapid and I use a 256 and 254 with no problems. The 256 requires Stalker 5.xxx which is installed on Rapids servers.

I use a 254 and 256. In actual usage the 256 seems slightly faster when navigating menus but other than that I could not specify anything else. I would save the money and get the 254.

Go to inner portal
The box will usually start the update process
