Newbie Question Time

I have a MAG424 which I got cheap recently. I have no problems with blocking or anything like that, but I am finding my experience of IPTV very frustrating. Is it normal to have 3-5 day outages where channels don't load and VOD states "Server Unavailable". I have a VPN, I am fairly proficient in IT, but "Turn it off for 5 minutes and try again" seems to be a copout. My question is Does this experience happen with all IPTV resellers or have I just been unlucky with my selections? I have joined here in the hope that I can find a reliable supplier and I will ask for a trial and probably a subscription shortly. Please note that I do accept glitches and outages happen, but resellers seem pretty powerless to help if the issue is anything other than user misconfiguration or lack of VPN. Any comments and recommendations are welcome
