I've tried boxes with both s905 & s905x and have not had any problems with the picture quality on either but i have never used any of the programs you mentioned, give Smart iptv and Perfect player a go.

I have a t95n 905x and after a firmware update it now works brilliantly, worked like crap though with the supplied firmware (android 6.0), i flashed it with Nexbox a95x firmware (android 6.0.1) and havent looked back since. I always buy the 2gig ram for that little bit of extra help, it costs...

Give the Smart tv app a go, it works ok on an android box and you dont need to use kodi with it so you can keep kodi as is.
