Hey all, I am currently living in China but somehow cant get IPTV to work with my local VPNs. Does anyone have similar experiences or ideas how to solve this? Outline VPN works but is super slow snd wont allow any 4K due to low rates..

Greetings!

I know the problem with slow VPNs in China and 4K IPTV buffering. Many servers are overloaded and have high latency.

Better performance usually comes from using WireGuard or OpenConnect. Streaming optimized servers or SmartDNS can also improve speeds a lot.

Another option is renting a VPS in Japan Singapore or Hong Kong and setting up WireGuard yourself. This avoids crowded public VPNs and gives better bandwidth.

Some VPN providers offer China optimized routes that reduce lag and packet loss.

Hello. This happens because most VPNs get throttled by China’s Great Firewall. Outline works but is too slow for 4K. The fix is to use a China optimized VPN with stealth or obfuscation such as ExpressVPN, NordVPN, or Surfshark, or switch to a SmartDNS service which is much faster for streaming IPTV. Also try different protocols like WireGuard, OpenVPN TCP or UDP, and connect through nearby servers such as Hong Kong, Japan, or Singapore for better speeds. The issue is not your IPTV but the VPN speed, so upgrading to a faster VPN or SmartDNS should solve it.
