Directv app on android 11 tv box

hello all
i got a new android box and the new directv app will not seem to run on it.when i try to login it displays "issue on our end.try again later.care code 500" incidentally the older directv android app runs fine but it is going to be discontinued soon.has anyone here encountered this or does anyone have any idea what might cause it?
