Looking for the best box :)

Hi IPTV Community ,

As black friday is coming up I am looking for the best box. Price is not a concern for me (thankfully).

I will only use this box for IPTV (I do have TiviMate, but willing to buy something else if needs be). I have a great IPTV provider as well as great internet. Although my current "rig" is 1080p, later next year I will be using 4k.

I am more looking for something that will last the test of time. Be working for 3-5 years (or longer) and is more "futerproof".

What is my best bet?

Here is what I have been looking at so far:
- Mini PC
- Formuler Z12 Ultra
- Nvidia Shield Pro

I am well open to suggestions or your guys (superior) opinion.
Did try searching the forums, but could not find a definitive answer so sorry you probably see this question yet again.

I have 2 Nvidia Shield Pro and very satisfied with them.
I have heard good things about formulary as well.

For pure IPTV use, future-proof 4K, unlimited budget and 5+ years lifespan:

1. Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2019) – Still the absolute king in 2025.Zero buffering, best AI upscaling 1080p → 4K, updates guaranteed until at least 2028, no overheating.Black Friday price usually drops to 169-175 € → buy it with your eyes closed.
2. Mini PC Intel N100/N150 (16 GB RAM / 512 GB SSD) – 180-220 €Raw power, runs anything (Windows or CoreELEC), 8-10 years lifespan easy.

Formuler Z12 Ultra is good but in 2025 most heavy users have switched back to Shield or Mini PC for long-term reliability.


Personal choice: Shield Pro if you want “set it and forget it” for the next 6-7 years.

Agreed I never have any issues with eithier of my Nvidia Shield Pro. Had mine for 6 years. Still going strong. Take them apart clean out fans and apply new thermal past and off to the races again. Highly recommend
