Recording with s710

Hello dear community
I've had a TVIP 4K HDR S710 for a long time and have recently been trying to record on an external drive. Afterwards an .mpg file appears to be there anyway, but it doesn't play. Connected to the PC (the external HDD) there is also a folder (.mpg)! and there are two files in it (an HTML doc and an IDX file). Although the small receiver shows me that it is being recorded while it is recording! But, unfortunately, at the end there is nothing to see.
Probably due to settings, right?
