Which Android OS to use and how to install on existing Android boxes

Hi

I have 3 android tv box with the below OS on them, can I install a new version of the OS? if so what OS version can I install and how?

1. phonenix - android version 7.1 build number px_5.3
2. 4.4.2 kitkat api 19
3. 6.01 marshmallow api23

Best is to use Android TV Os..

Most boxes can install custom firmware but beware that usually many features of the box doesnt work in all Firmware...

In my opinion its not worth the hazzle.. Better to get an Android with Android TV Os preinstalled
