@Gambit1uk virgin media is one of the worst ISP's in terms of throttling when it comes to IPTV.
He need to change the DNS server in router and/or device and on top of that, he need to find a good VPN to bypass the ISP block.
MAG 4xx and 5xx models might face issues with portal system.
You can use these models with m3u url.

Reset to factory settings from System Recovery Utility menu
Enter System Recovery Utility menu;
Select Default Settings.
In the Resetting to defaults window select Yes.

Install the VLC player on your fire tv stick, you'll find it under the fire tv stick search function. It brings the right video codec to your device.
Once installed you can start your IPTV app again and the vod content should start working ;)
iQuit with Apple and this is one more sign that this decision was the right one ;)
Apple might remove more and more iptv apps from their store...you can try "iPlayTV" but best would be to use an android box in future.
try to reduce bouquet list to 4-5 groups because most smart tv having limited cache/memory.
and change dns servers in router and turn on a vpn. (best would be to get an android box like amazon fire tv stick)
If possible change it on router so all devices in your network will benefit from it. If your router doesn't have the option then change it in the specific device under network settings.
You tried really many things and it really sounds like ISP throttling.
Change your DNS server settings to: 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1 instead of the ISP DNS.
And Smart TVs having often a cache/memory problem: Reduce your bouquet list to a minimum, max 4-5 groups only.
And turn off the dashboard...
Talk to your reseller and he should be able to remove groups for you.
