If everything else fails, feel free to get a sub from me, I provide a Enigma2 plugin with EPG, including picons for most channels.
Just be a little carefull on low end devices, they tend to have a hard time processing that much data
seems like http://epg.clientportal.link/guide.xml.gz is broken as welll, or atleast it isnt loading for me :/

there is a new window tool called xmlgrab&save4me on manyplay.de
it generates and automates webgrabplus+ to create your personal epg guide.xml.
also it distributes the epg data automaticaly to a cloud,ftp, lan or local drive destination.
so you can reach your guide.xml in your local area network or from everywhere in the
world.

Just to clarify, it doesn't make it any easier creating the actual webgrab+ config files, you still
need a fully configured webgrab+ setup, pre installing this program.
It does make it very easy to move the resulting guide to what ever storage though.

How i use XMLGABPLUS and XMLGRAB&STORE4ME:
Both need a installed Webgrabplus+ and Siteini.pack.
I use XMLGRABPLUS ones to generate my 2 days interval epg channel config file.
Only 2 days because my tv with epg works on a tablet and more than 2 days are data intensive.
With XMLGABPLUS i create my WebGrab++.config.xml file very simple by clicking on my country, the tv-website and each channel i want to have
in my epg file.
After that i save the WebGrab++.config.xml inside XMLGABPLUS and now i can click on run to create my guide.xml
But i can only save the guide.xml file by a save dialog.
XMLGRAB&STORE4ME make it now for me...
It starts full automaticaly every day ones a time with the working webgrabconfig.xml that i have created ones with XMLGABPLUS.
And it automates webgrabplus+ to create my actual epg guide.xml and after webgrabplus+ is finished the epg file will be stored
on my cloud space.
Now i can reach my actual epg data wherever i stay at home or somewhere in the world...

Yes, I use that one.
I wouldn't exactly call the creation and maintenance of the individual config files for easy though.
