How can I do a Speedtest on the MAG Box?
When I click on the Speedtest in the Portal nothing happens.

I have a client who is testing the service but it does not have an EPG on its MAG254, its MAC Adress is registered and the name of the portal that I communicated is: http://mag.clientportal.link/c/
So why don't he have no EPG, what is missing?

Hello.
I want to buy a Mag box and can´t decide which one.
It seems like everybody on this forum has the 254 version althouth 256 is the newer one (correct me if I´m wrong about that)

Is it worth buyin the 256 version or should I go with the old one? The price difference is 20€

I use a 254 and 256. In actual usage the 256 seems slightly faster when navigating menus but other than that I could not specify anything else. I would save the money and get the 254.

The Mag256 has more ram 1Gb.
The Mag256 supports H.265 (HEVC), in case you want to use the mediaplayer (or maybe some hvec iptv streams in the future =4k)
The Mag256 has USB 3.0

Hello, is the EPG on MAG254/256 fixed? Do you have EPG now? Or is it's going to be implemented on to the server?

hi
i cant recommend buying the mag256- for gods sake- dont do it
i bought it and it froze completely after five minutes so i had to pull the power cable to restart again-
same thing- frozen again. over and over again.

then i bought the mag254 and everything works beautifully.

infomir, the manufacturer, tey told me why this was.
mag 254 is stalker 5/6 based, while mag 256 is stalker7/hevc based.
if the portal does not support stalker7 basis/hevc, then after some minutes
its codecs are crashing.

no problems at all with mag 254.
mag 256 may work beautifully with hevc portals, but in my own experience not with this one.
others confirmed that also

Thanks alot for info! Got myself a 256 for testing purposes and this happens! It works better with a trimmed m3u list but no epg then!

Maybe Rapid should upgrade their portal to support Mag 256?
This is a win/win situation for all of us, newer and faster model of a stb is easier to sell to customers!

GhostPhantom, Hekuran,
hello friends
thanks for having my back”
i agree in a hundred percent and i would appreciate that, too.
but i fear that this would be connected with a whole lot of technical effort for rapid,
as all streams have to be recoded with a hevc based codec.

(streams are currently encoded with H.264 codec, and would have to be recoded with the H.265/hevc codec)

any officials from rapid reading this here? mehdi, babak?
what do you think about this, gentlemen?
thx, regards
