I'm trying to find the firmware and instructions. If you have them handy, would appreciate.

I have the same problem.
I have done a hard reset, but the mag won't let med choose a other upgrade then the last one, that is probaly causing this problem...

This is quite unacceptable though, Rapid should have been prepared for it.

I will try going back to the older firmware, just hope i don't brick the box!

Try this:
DOWNGRADE MAG250/MAG 254
On USB - drive, the file system FAT32, copy the file below on the root
If your STB MAG-200/250 several USB connectors then use to update the rear connector.

On a USB drive should the directory MAG250 that contain two files imageupdate and bootstrap
Enter The BIOS
How to enter the BIOS setup (bootloader menu) MAG-250?
Power off STB MAG200/250.
Press and hold the «menu» on the remote (or the power button on the front panel).
Without releasing the «menu» (or the power button on the front panel) Power on STB MAG/250.
Select “Upgrade Tools”, pressing enter on the remote control to the right
Select “USB Bootstrap”
Connect the USB flash drive and click OK to confirm the beginning of the update process

The version provided in the link is of the 29th of January 2016 so must be an older version to the latest.

Yes, I have the same problem after updating my MAG-254 to version 218r16 of Feb 06 2017 (0.2.18-r16-254). It's my fault. Why can I not wait and always be one of the firsts  Don't touch a runnig system and wait till the others debugging the new release

its not to do with rapid.. its to do with the firmware.
ive been using 02.18-r14-254 till this morning with no problems using m3u with Smart iptv..
upgrading to 02.18-r16-254 has caused the channels to intermittently freeze and also loss of the ability to select a different audio stream.
the link above points to the infomir site with the firmwares, but for the mag254, although showing a date 29/01/2016, the firmware in the folder is the new one 02.18-r16-254.

I am trying to find the prevous one 02.18-r14-254. Shame the mag doesnt give the option of backing up the previouse firmware.
